Location Announcement of Nebraska Open Meetings Act:  A copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act is located on the wall at the rear of the Hearing Room.  Additionally, a copy of all written material to be discussed at today's open meeting is available from the County Clerk's staff at the front of the Hearing Room.  These materials can also be viewed on the County's web site at lancaster.ne.gov. 

 

Those wishing to speak on items specific to today's agenda are asked to do so when the item is called by the County Clerk.  Each speaker is limited to five (5) minutes.  Time limits may be extended or reasonably decreased at the discretion of the County Board Chair.

 

Those wishing to speak on items relating to other County business not on the agenda may speak during the public comment portion of the agenda.  Each speaker is limited to five (5) minutes.  These time limits may be extended or reasonably decreased at the discretion of the County Board Chair.  The public comment period will be limited to one (1) hour.

 

If you are here to participate on an item and need special consideration because of a schedule conflict or some other reason, please let the Clerk know prior to the meeting so we may accommodate your needs.

 

1)      MINUTES:

 

A.        Approval of the minutes of the Board of Commissioners meeting held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. 

 

2)      CLAIMS:

 

A.        Approval of all claims processed through February 12, 2019. 

 

3)      CONSENT ITEMSThese are routine business items that are expected to be adopted without dissent.  Any individual item may be removed for special discussion and consideration by a Commissioner or by any member of the public without prior notice.  Unless there is an exception, these items will be approved as one with a single vote of the Board of Commissioners.  These items are approval of: 

 

A.        Grant contract with Guidance to Success for the Youth Club program. (This grant is funded by the Juvenile Justice Prevention Funds in the amount of $20,000 for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.) (C-19-0082)

 

B.        Contract with Pavers, Inc., for the West Raymond Road replacement of County Bridge C-91 (Bid No. 19-029).  The cost to the County is $2,581,880.25. (C-19-0086)

 

C.        Received and placed on file the following:

 

1.     Closing documents for the sale of Trabert Hall to CenterPointe, settlement date of February 5, 2019.

2.     Records and Information Management report for January, 2019.

3.     Assessor/Register of Deeds report for January, 2019.

4.     Clerk of the District Court report for January, 2019.

 

D.        Setting a public hearing on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 112 of the County-City Building (555 S 10th Street, Lincoln) regarding a manager application for Fred A. Gertsch in connection with a Class Y liquor license for Prime Country Winery LLC, 12120 Southwest 142nd Street, Denton.

 

4)      OLD BUSINESS:

 

A.        Resolution in the matter of vacating the west 10 feet of the unnamed right-of-way adjacent to Lot 6 IT, Section 30, Township 10 North, Range 8 East, located in Lancaster County, Nebraska. (R-19-0008)

 

5)      NEW BUSINESS:

 

A.        Special designated license application from Ken's Liquor, Inc., for an event at Hillside Event Center, 12400 West Denton Road, Denton, on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

 

B.        Special designated license application from Ken's Liquor, Inc., for an event at Hillside Event Center, 12400 West Denton Road, Denton, on Saturday, June 8, 2019.

 

C.        Contract with Nebraska Administrative Office of the Courts to reimburse the County for computers and associated maintenance used to access and operate JUSTICE. The term of the contract is April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2021. The County will be reimbursed a total amount of $34,197. (C-19-0083)

 

D.        Agreement with The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker to provide meeting room and services for the Lancaster County Employee Recognition Breakfast on May 21, 2019.  Including catering and service fees, the estimated cost to the County is $17.08 per attendee. (C-19-0084)

 

E.        Agreement with Schemmer Associates, Inc., for geotech services for soil boring and testing (Project 19-02) located on South 82nd Street from Roca Road to Bennet Road.  The cost to the County is $4,240. (C-19-0085)

 

F.         Contract with U.S. Bank using the State of Nebraska Contract 84289-O4 to provide Purchase Card (P-Card) services. The term of the contract is one year from date of execution. (C-19-0087)

 

G.        Request for the Operation Tipping Point Grant through Office of Violence Prevention funds for a total request of $83,462 with a match of $13,301.

7)      ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

A.        The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners will hold a staff meeting on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 8:30 a.m., in the Bill Luxford Studio (Room 113) of the County-City Building (555 S. 10th Street, Lincoln).

 

B.        The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., in Room 112 of the County-City Building (555 S. 10th Street, Lincoln) with the Board of Equalization immediately following.

 

C.        The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., in Room 112 of the County-City Building (555 S. 10th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska) regarding County Text Amendment No. 18016 - Wind Energy Conversion Systems.

8)      ADJOURNMENT
