This database only includes information for marriage licenses issued by Lancaster County, Neberaska. You can search by Applicant #1 (Groom), Applicant #2 (Bride) or Marriage Date. Entering a "Last Name" is required and the name must be spelled correctly. The "First Name" field can be left blank or the first character of the name may be used. NOTE: Include suffix such as Jr., Sr., III, etc. in surname field.
Only marriage licenses from the mid-1960s to the present are searchable through this database. Upon completing your search, if there is no marriage date listed, the license was never filed in our office or the couple did not get married.
Requesting a Certified Copy of a Marriage License
The Lancaster County Clerk's office can only issue certified copies of marriage licenses from mid-June, 1976 to the present.
If your license was issued prior to June, 1976 you will need to contact the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Vital Records Division, to obtain a certified copy. Their contact information is as follows:
