City of Hickman Railroad Quiet Zone Feasibility Study Information Meeting

The public is invited to a public information meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 17 to cover the regulations governing the use of locomotive horns and describe the safety improvements proposed at the crossings in Hickman to allow the routine silencing of locomotive horns. An information “open house” format will follow, allowing the public to gather pertinent information about the project, speak with project engineers, and leave as they wish. The meeting will be held at the Hickman Community Center, 115 Locust Street Hickman, Nebraska.

The Railroad Quiet Zone Feasibility Study is being funded by the RTSD and conducted by the Lincoln & Omaha engineering firm of Felsburg Holt & Ullevig.

All persons interested in the project are invited to attend and present their views and ask questions. Written statements will also be accepted as part of the meeting record for 10 calendar days after the public meeting.
