The four pools that will remain closed are Star City Shores, University Place, Highlands and Eden. The Trago Sprayground will also be closed.

Passes and Coupons: Passes and coupon books will not be offered for the 2020 swim season.

Rentals: Private rentals of pools will not be offered for the 2020 swim season.

Punch Cards: A 10 punch admission card will be available for $20.00. Cards may be purchased starting June 15th at pool locations.

Summer Programs

Programming offered at the pools will include weekly open swim sessions, evening family swim sessions, evening water fitness classes, and possibly learn to swim classes. Signs will be posted outside of the pool entrances when facilities are full. Capacities will be determined in part by physical distancing requirements and the city COVID-19 Risk Dial at

Open swim sessions

Swim sessions lasting 90 minutes open for all levels of swimmers.
  • Days: Sunday - Saturday
  • Time: 90 minutes long and scheduled at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Fee: $2.00 per person over 2 years of age.
  • Cash payment is due at arrival at all locations except Woods (cash and card). Punch cards are available as well.

Family Swim Sessions

Weekly evening family swim sessions lasting 90 minutes.
  • Days & Locations:
    • Mondays: Belmont
    • Tuesdays: Arnold
    • Wednesdays: Irvingdale
    • Thursdays: Ballard
    • Fridays: Woods
  • Times: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
  • Fee: $5.00 per family
  • Cash or check payment is due at arrival at all locations except Woods (cash and card).

Adult Water Fitness Classes

Evening water fitness classes offer an fun-filled hour of stretching, cardio, strengthening within shallow water. Classes will start Wednesday, June 17th. Pre-registration for the classes is required due to limited space. Registration for the classes will be taken the day of the class and may be made by calling the pool location you wish to attend.

  • Times: 6:00 PM
  • Registration Fee: $2.00 per class
  • Cash or check payment is due at arrival at all locations except Woods (cash and card). Punch cards are available for water fitness classes as well.

Swim and Dive Clubs

Swim and dive clubs will be able to use Woods Pool for conditioning and practice, and the schedule will be posted each morning at the pool. Parks and Recreation are reviewing USA Swimming and Diving recommendations to incorporate with local and state guidelines for operational procedures. Large events like the regional swim meets will not be held.

Swimming Lessons

Learn to swim classes are being considered and may begin in July. An announcment will be made later in the season.

COVID-19 Procedures

What to expect when coming to the swimming pools

    Pools will follow the state and Lancaster County Directed Health Measures. Rules include the following:
    • Upon arrival, patrons and staff will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and have their temperatures check.
    • Swimmers will be required to shower in their swimsuits with soap before entering the pool deck.
    • Patrons are expected to wear face coverings while waiting to check in and to stay at least six feet away from others.
    • Staff are required to wear face coverings when interacting with patrons and other staff.
    • Patrons may bring drinks in non-glass containers. Individually packaged snacks are also allowed.
    • Patrons may bring their own folding chairs.
    • When pool capacity is reached, check in will begin for the following session.
    • High touch surfaces around the pool and in the bathhouse will be disinfected between sessions.
    • Arnold, Ballard, Belmont and Irving can pay by cash or check. Woods accepts cash and credit card. Punch cards may be used for open swim and water exercise ($2/session).

    General Pool Rules

    • Kids under 7 must be accompanied by a person 16 or older
    • If a diaper is worn, it must be a swim diaper.
    • Street clothes and cutoffs are not allowed.
    • Floating apparatus allowed in baby pool only.
    • Mermaid tails, inner tubes, air mattresses and water wings are not allowed.
    • Water toys are generally not allowed.
    • US Coast Guard or Red Cross life jacket is allowed.
    • No smoking in any pool area.
    • Air temperature must reach 70 degrees by 3p or pool may close. Once closed, it will not reopen.
    • Hours may be altered during inclement weather.
    • Additional rules are posted at the entrance of the pool.
