East "A" Street "Lincoln on the Move" enhancement project

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities, in partnership with private developers, is enhancing "A" Street between South 89th and South 93rd streets. The project includes new pavement and a raised center median. Two roundabouts will be constructed at the 89th Street and 93rd Street intersections in spring 2021. New sidewalks, street lighting and utility reconstruction are also included in the project. The project is partially-funded by the Lincoln on the Move quarter-cent sales tax.

Completed work includes road and shoulder grading and drainage system cleaning. Remaining work includes:

During the winter months, the street will periodically reopen when the weather becomes unsuitable for earthwork. In spring 2021, drivers can expect a full closure while the street is repaved. This project began later than expected due to delays from a separate street project that is now finished. The updated completion date is June 2021.
