Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, October 12, "A" Street between South 84th and South 98th streets will be closed for a Lincoln on the Move (LOTM) street improvement project. Access to homes and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The project area will reopen when winter weather prevents work from continuing. Final work will resume in early 2021. The recommended detour is to use "O" Street from South 84th to South 120th streets.
The project is designed to improve safety and traffic flow by adding one lane in each direction with a raised center median and roundabouts at the intersections of South 89th and South 93rd streets. ADA-accessible sidewalks, lighting and utility construction are also included in the project.
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances. Drivers are reminded to exercise caution around work zones. LTU appreciates the public's patience during this project.

Lincoln on the Move street improvement projects are funded through a quarter-cent sales tax approved by Lincoln residents to assist with enhancement and maintenance of Lincoln streets. Collection began October 2019. The Advisory Committee on Transportation public group meets regularly to make recommendations on priority street projects for LOTM.
