Beginning Monday, August 17, the Rock Island Trail between Highway 2 and Old Cheney Road will be closed for street and curb ramp repairs at the Essex Drive crossing. Work is expected to be completed by August 21. The recommended detour is to exit the Rock Island Trail on the south side of Hwy. 2 to join the Tierra Williamsburg Trail. Follow the Tierra Williamsburg Trail to Old Cheney Road, then follow the trail along Old Cheney Road and rejoin the trail near South 16th Street.
