The City Parks and Recreation Department's recreation centers and offices will be closed along with the rest of City government non-emergency offices Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Pioneers Park Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave., will be closed Thursday, November 23 for Thanksgiving but will be open Friday, November 24. The Center's regular hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The Chet Ager building is operating on its fall/winter schedule through April 2, and its hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. The Hyde Memorial Observatory, on the south side of Holmes Lake, 3701 S. 70th St., will be closed Saturday, November 25. The volunteer-run observatory is generally open from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays from October through March. Admission is free.
