City Crews Continue to Respond to Storm Debris Service Requests

Parks and Recreation Community Forestry staff continues to clean up tree debris caused by last week's storm. This week, the 18-member crew began removing debris from public rights of way (between curb and sidewalk). Due to more than 1,000 requests for service, the cleanup effort is expected to take several more weeks. If you have not already called to report street or park debris only, call the Community Forestry Section at 402-441-7847 (press "0"). Those who have already called do not need to file an additional report.

"Our dedicated crew is responding to service requests and safely removing street tree debris as quickly as possible," said Lynn Johnson, Parks and Recreation Director. "Our first priority is to address public safety, and then to clear fallen debris from trees. "We appreciate patience and understanding as we work through the storm response and cleanup effort," he said.

Residents are responsible for disposing of tree debris on private property. Residents may contact their refuse hauler or take debris to one of these locations:
