The public is invited to the Aging Partners All-Rural Senior Center Picnic Thursday, September 21 at the Bennet Senior Center in the American Legion Hall Post #280, 970 Monroe St. The event will feature entertainment by the musical group The Time Burners.
Lunch will be served at noon with entertainment starting at 1 p.m. There is a $4 suggested contribution for ages 60 and over, and an $8 fee for those under age 60. A bake sale also will be held.
"This will be a great opportunity for seniors and the general public to discover what our senior centers are all about," said Paula Chamberlain, Aging Partners Rural Senior Centers Manager. "We hope people will have lunch with us, enjoy the music of The Time Burners, visit with friends, and perhaps make some new ones."
Reservations are required by calling 402-416-7693 by Tuesday, September 19.
September is recognized by the National Council on Aging as National Senior Center Month. More information on Aging Partners is available at aging.lincoln.ne.gov.
