Parks and Recreation's New Main Office Opens March 28

"A" Street office to permanently close

The Parks and Recreation Department's new main office will open Tuesday, March 28 at 3140 "N" Street (32nd and "O" St.). The office at 2740 "A" Street will permanently close at the end of the day Friday, March 24. The administration, athletics and planning and construction divisions will be located on the third floor of the building next to Woods Park that also houses the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department. The Parks divisions that are moving will not be open Monday, March 27. Parking for the new offices is available from both "N" and "O" streets.

The "A" Street office is being removed as part of the Lincoln Children's Zoo expansion project. The Lincoln Parks Foundation office also will be move to the 32nd and "O" location. The locations of all other Parks and Recreation offices and centers remain the same.

The historic building that houses the Ager Indoor Play Center will be open through Friday, March 31. The building was originally designed in 1936 to be an aviary, and the Zoo plans to renovate the interior to provide year-round interactive animal exhibits and children's play opportunities.
