A water main break this morning has closed the west lane of South 27th Street from Lafayette Ave. to Woodsdale Blvd. The leak has been repaired, and water service has been restored, but the lane will be closed for about two days to allow for the concrete and asphalt work to be completed. Traffic in that area has been reduced to one lane in each direction, so motorists may want to take alternate routes during peak traffic times.
