MAYOR’ S STATEMENT ON LES DEFERRING MARCH RATE INCREASE

“In August, I called on LES to look closely at all the factors that determine electricity rates before seeking the March rate increase. I want to thank the LES board and administration for their hard work to reexamine expenditures and look for efficiencies. I am very pleased that circumstances and increased internal scrutiny have allowed LES to defer the March increase and ease the burden on ratepayers at a time when many families are struggling because of the economy.”
