“The Agriculture Committee’s decision to allow State Fair Park to become the new Innovation Park is a victory for Lincoln’s economic future. It will attract cutting edge businesses that provide good wages and good jobs to our children and the generations that follow. The Innovation Park will be a shining example of what the State of Nebraska and Lincoln can become.

“We continue to believe Lincoln’s future has room for both the Innovation Park and the State Fair. It is clear from the consultant’s report that the Fair’s future viability is best served in Lincoln. That’s why we continue to push to keep the Fair in the Capital City.

“However, the Governor and the Legislature control the situation by virtue of the State’s ownership of State Fair Park. They have made their initial preferences clear. In the event the full Legislature decides the Fair must go to Grand Island, we will respect that decision.”
