Members of the Lincoln City Council will ring bells for the Salvation Army from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, December 21st at the food court inside Westfield-Gateway, 61st and “O” streets. “This is the fifth year the Council has participated in the Salvation Army’s holiday fund-raiser,” said Council Member Ken Svoboda. “We invite everyone to join us on Friday and support a great cause in our community.” Salvation Army spokeswoman Leta Powell Drake said the goal of the campaign is to raise $505,000. She said volunteer bell-ringers are still needed through Decemer 24. Individuals and groups can sign up to ring bells online at www.ringbells.org or by calling 474-6263. |
