City of Lincoln Mayor's Office 2005 Media Releases |
The public is invited to attend an informational meeting Tuesday, May 10 on the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for Lincoln for 2005 through 2011. The briefing is set for 3:30 to 5 p.m. in room 113 of the County-City Building, 555 South 10th Street. Citizens will be able to ask questions on the draft CIP for parks, urban development, water, wastewater and streets. “The six-year CIP is an important document to guide the public investment needed to maintain, improve and expand Lincoln’s infrastructure,” said Marvin Krout, Director of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Department. “We are offering this public briefing to raise awareness and interest in the community.” The City-County Planning Commission is scheduled to have a public hearing on the draft CIP at its meeting May 18 to determine if the proposed projects are consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. The Mayor will submit a final version of the CIP to the City Council in June with her proposed operating budget. The draft CIP is available on the City Web site at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: CIP) or at the Planning Department in the City-County Building. |
