Logistics Division |
|
The Lincoln Fire and Rescue Logistics Division has served as the “silent backbone” of the Fire Department since its inception. The Logistics Division has a long tradition of exceptional service. Offering creative ideas to enhance and maintain the City of Lincoln’s frontline and reserve apparatus fleet, often times fabricating new designs to help our department function at a very high level.
Fire apparatus are often the most expensive part of a Fire Department investment and taking care of them can make a significant difference in their life span. Our Logistics Division maintains and repairs 17 engines, 5 ladder trucks, and 10 medic units. Including specific departmental vehicles Hazmat 14, Air 14, Decon and Tech Rescue, Dive Rescue, UT1 and light tower. Under the direction of Chief Kendall Warnock the Logistics Division is responsible for maintaining the operational readiness of the department’s fleet of apparatus and support vehicles. Performing routine and emergency repairs, safety inspections, preventative maintenance, communications equipment installation, and emergency apparatus outfitting are among a few of the countless duties that are carried out by a team of 3 highly skilled fire mechanics and an office assistant. |
