Update to Found Human Remains

UPDATE
On April 13, 2023, the remains located earlier this week in rural Lancaster County were positively identified as 68 year-old Gary T. Lew of Omaha, Nebraska.
Later that day, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators conducted interviews with the family of Lew in Omaha. The investigation revealed that Lew was the victim of a homicide that had occurred in Omaha approximately one month prior. Lew’s remains were disposed of in Lancaster County sometime after his death. Upon the discovery of this information, the investigation was turned over to the Omaha Police Department.
As of this morning, Omaha Police have subsequently made four arrests surrounding the death of Gary Lew and they will be releasing more information on this case today.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office continues to assist in this ongoing investigation.
