Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, HSI-Omaha, and law enforcement partner investigation into multimillion-dollar theft ring leads to several arrests
Sophisticated Organized Criminal Enterprise based in Florida targeting beef and pork packaging plants in Midwest
LINCOLN, Ne.- On June 27, 2022, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, began an investigation into several stolen semi-trailers and loads of frozen beef occurring in Nebraska, including Lancaster County. In the initial investigation, the estimated loss was $1 million. Since June of 2021 the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) Omaha has identified approximately 45 thefts that have occurred across Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin totaling $9 million in loss. It has been determined through the investigation, led by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and HSI-Omaha’s Major Crimes Task Force, that this highly sophisticated Organized Criminal Enterprise is based out of Miami, Florida and has been targeting beef and pork packaging plants in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
On Thursday, October 20, 2022, HSI Omaha, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol, with assistance from HSI Miami El Dorado Task Force South identified and arrested three principal targets in the Organized Criminal Enterprise, recovering three tractor trailers with stolen merchandise valued at $550,000. The three people that were arrested were Yoslany Leyva Del Sol, 6/6/1984, Ledier Machin Andino, 6/18/1985, and Delvis L. Fuentes, 7/17/1983 all from the Miami, Florida area. The three were arrested under 18 U.S. Code 2314 Transportation of Stolen Goods and 18 U.S. Code 1956 Money Laundering.
This investigation is ongoing and is part of Homeland Security Investigations-Omaha and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Task Force.
