The ‘Speed Catches Up With You’ selective enforcement is a nationwide mobilization sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. This mobilization is geared towards reducing speed related fatalities. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the mobilization through saturation patrol by increasing the number of deputies working in marked cruisers.
Beginning Monday, July 27, 2026, and continuing through Saturday, August 08, 2026, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will increase the number of deputies patrolling Lancaster County in marked cruisers. The additional deputies working the selective enforcement will enforce all traffic violations and focus their efforts on speed related violations.
Overtime for the additional deputies working during the mobilization will be paid through a mini grant funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
