Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Assists in Arrest of Murder Suspect Justis Barnhouse in Lancaster County

On April 21, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office received information that Justis Barnhouse, an individual suspected in a homicide investigation in Beatrice, was in Lancaster County. Around 2:30 p.m., deputies located Barnhouse and initiated a traffic stop near North 98th Street and the Interstate 80 overpass.

After multiple commands were given and not followed, a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office K9 was deployed and made contact with Barnhouse.

Barnhouse was taken into custody for warrants of second-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, later released, and lodged at the Lancaster County Jail. No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
