Members of the Criminal Interdiction Unit arrested two Michigan men for possession of suspected cocaine with intent to deliver after traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Lancaster County.
On May 21, 2020 at 12:48 P.M., members of the Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped a 2019 Dodge Caravan traveling east on Interstate 80 near mile marker 389 for following too closely in violation of Nebraska Revised Statute (NRS) 60-6,140. Upon contacting the driver, investigators established probable cause that the van contained illegal drugs. During a search of the van, investigators located approximately one pound of suspected cocaine, over $9,000 in cash, and seven grams of marijuana.
The driver, 37 year old Carl Tubbs of Ypsilanti, MI, and 27 year old passenger, Shauntavis Freeman of Canton, MI, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (NRS 28-416). Two other adult passengers in the van were released. The investigation continues.
