On 09/01/2024, at approximately 2103 hours, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, Raymond Fire and Rescue, Lincoln Fire and Rescue and Starcare responded to the area of 1st and Davey Road on the report of a male involved in an ATV/UTV accident. Upon arrival to the scene, it was reported to deputies and medical personnel that the victim, a 45-year-old male from Madison, NE, was a passenger in a 2021 Kawasaki Mule UTV. Also in the UTV were the driver and 5 additional passengers. According to witnesses, the victim attempted to move seating positions in the UTV while it traveling westbound on Davey Road near 1st Street. While attempting to move positions, the victim fell out of the back of the UTV while it was in motion and suffered life threatening injuries. The victim was flown by Starcare to Bryan West ER where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim's name is currently being withheld until family can be notified. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
