Pioneers Park Nature Center Discovery Camp 3-6 yrs

This is a half day camp designed for ages 3-6. Children need to come prepared to be outdoors, get dirty, and have fun. Camp is held Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and meets in the Prairie Building preschool classrooms. A Discovery Camp t-shirt is included with registration. Pioneers Park Nature Center Explorer Camp 6-13 yrs

Nature Camp for Explorers is for ages 6-13. Each week includes educational activities and time to explore the creek, woods, ponds, and prairie. A camp t-shirt is included with registration.Snacks and water are provided. Campers bring lunch, water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen, extra clothes, and old shoes. Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm, with extended hours available. All camps will be held in our new Education Building located inside the Pioneers Park Nature Center. Scholarships are available; please call 402-441-7895 for more information.
A Participant Information & Waiver form is required to finalize registration, and can be found via the link shown below. One waiver per camper per calendar year is required.

Pioneers Park Nature Center NavigatorsCamp 14-17yr

The Navigators camp immerses youth ages 14-17 in outdoor learning and leadership building experiences. The Navigators camp experience includes outdoor recreation activities and nature exploration including, canoeing, archery, fishing, hiking, and creeking. Participants will also have opportunity to explore and learn about various habitats, native and invasive species, and build on their understanding of conservation and environmental issues. Participants will be outside the majority of each day and will need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and an extra change of clothes and closed-toe shoes daily. Details and other important information about the program will be sent out prior to camp.
Extended care hours available: 8:00 am –5:30 pm. Protocols aligning with current Directed Health Measures will be followed.

Preschool & PreK Programs:
Our program is based on the conviction that children learn by doing: hiking, climbing, digging, building and being outdoors regardless of the weather. We plan our nature curriculum around seasonal themes and include a wide range of age-appropriate activities.
Preschool Program: Curriculum is focused around seasonal themes and includes daily hikes, discussion circle, crafts, story time, snack, puppet shows, Show & Tell, fine and gross motor skill development, language arts, dramatic play, rhythm and movement, and music.
Ages: 3 and 4 year olds
Days and Times: Tuesday & Thursday mornings 9:00 to 11:30 or afternoons 12:30 to 2:30
PreK Program: This program is designed to support your child's transition from preschool to kindergarten. In addition to the Nature Center Preschool's emphasis on outdoor exploration, the curriculum focuses on letter recognition and printing, phonics and sight words, journaling, numbers, and math skills.
Ages: 4 and 5 year olds
Days and Times: Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings 9:00 to 11:30 or afternoons 12:30 to 2:30

Pioneers Park Nature Center Programs for Scouts

Visit the Nature Center to learn about nature, hiking, and the plants and animals that you might encounter in Nebraska. Your hike leader will help you identify plants and animals and animals signs of animals while hiking and exploring the Nature Center
Hikes can be adapted for specific scout level requirements. Hikes must be arranged at least two weeks in advance.

Welcome Explorers Ages 6-13!
Spend the week with us at the Nature Center during Lincoln Public School’s spring break. Learn about ecology, wildlife, andmore during this fun filled week of day camp. Campers will be outside the majority of each day and will need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and an extra change of clothes and shoes daily. Nature Day Camps are designed to inspire curiosity and build understanding of others and their surroundings through guidance of caring staff, featuring the outdoors, and natural wonder. Extended care hours available:8:00 am – 5:30 pm.
